Following the trend, buying a very expensive piece of cloth to be fashionable, doing window shopping with one’s friends, all these situations are very normal for people living in a magical country such as Great Britain. But the truth is very different. In the word "fashion victim", we can see three different definitions. We asked a lot of people in Hogwarts about these definitions, and according to 87 % of them, a "fashion victim" is: « a boy or a girl who caught the fashion bug and, who can spend a lot of money to buy a garment or make-up. » This definition is correct, but the real "fashion victims" are not that kind of person.
In a lot of remote corners of Great Britain, like Wales or Scotland, we can find a lot of clandestine workshop. In these strange places kept secret by wizards, a lot of house elves are exploited to make clothes. They are sewing all the day, they do not sleep a lot, they eat almost nothing, they are killed if they are not productive enough, they sweat to make a t-shirt or a sock which he will be never able to wear. Then, when we go in a sweat-shop that employs this method, modern slavery, we become an accomplice of this crime, we become a monster. We do not hear elves’ horrible cries, who are suffering. We must help these elves and stop this massacre!
Do you like being unfashionable and save lives or, on the contrary being cool in the eyes of the world and being a serial-killer? That is the question.
